Yobe Agric Ministry present 200 motorcycles to extension agents.

The Commissioner Ministry of agriculture and natural resources Ali Mustapha Goniri Said the provision of the motorcycle is part of government efforts towards complete revitalisation of agricultural sector.
The Commissioner emphasised that government embarked on equipping extension agents with necessary skills and equipments
to support local farmers and enhance agricultural productivity for food security and economic growth of the state.
Goniri while flagging off the presentation of motorcycle to trained extension agents commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his unwavering commitment to the agricultural sector covering both crops production and livestock development.
He emphasized that participants were selected based on merit rather than political affiliation, underscoring the importance of efficient service delivery to achieve the ministry’s objectives.
According to him government provided them with the mobility to outreach to rural farmers.
He said the motorcycles amounting to 200 was for the trained extension agents drawn from the 178 political wards across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Government has made significant investments in agricultural sector by providing modern input and implements worth billions of naira to farmers free of charge aimed at promoting farming activities in the state.
The commissioner further clarified that the motorcycles are for official use and will be reassigned to officers when a staff member retires or leaves the service.
“They are strictly for official use and not for personal or commercial purposes” he added.
Some beneficiaries, Binta Zakari extension agents Potiskum Local Government and Wakili Yawudima Damaturu local government expressed their readiness to make good uses of the motorcycle for the purpose intended.
They reassured to contribute their quota in the revitalisation drive of the state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
