Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants in the state during the 2025 Ramadan fast.

This was contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, the State Head of the Civil Service.

Effective immediately, civil servants in the state will now report to the office at 9:00 AM and close at 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, a reduction of two hours from the previous closing time of 5:00 PM. On Fridays, civil servants will report to work at 9:00 AM and close at 1:00 PM, as is customary.

The Head of Service explained that this gesture is intended to provide civil servants with greater opportunities to prepare for the Ramadan break and to engage more fully in the spiritual activities associated with this holy month.

"It is hoped that civil servants in the state will use the Ramadan period to pray for God's guidance and blessings for our state," the Head of Service stated.

The statement further emphasized the intention for civil servants to utilize the fasting period as a time to pray for peace and economic prosperity for both the state and Nigeria as a whole.
