Jigawa police restores normalcy after village attack

Normalcy has been restored in Gidan Na Ruwa Fulani Settlement, Taura LGA, Jigawa State, after a violent attack by youths from Zango Maje Village.
The attack, which occurred on March 9, 2025, resulted in the burning of 24 hatched houses and 16 local granaries.
According to the police public relations officer SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the trouble started when two men from Zango Maje Village were beaten and their motorcycle snatched, leading them to mobilize their community for revenge.
The police have arrested five suspects and are intensifying patrols in the area to prevent further breaches of peace.
The Jigawa State Police Command is urging citizens to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to report complaints to the appropriate authorities.
