Jigawa Govt', UNICEF Renew Partnership to Enhance Healthcare Services

The Jigawa State Government and UNICEF have renewed their partnership for two years, from 2025 to 2027. This agreement aims to improve healthcare services in the state, focusing on nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), education, child protection, and social policy.

Governor Malam Umar Namadi praised UNICEF's consistent support since 1991, highlighting the positive impacts on various sectors. Namadi commended UNICEF's efforts in bringing a high-level delegation to support nutrition and health initiatives.

The partnership has yielded significant results, including improved immunization coverage, reduced under-5 mortality rates, and increased access to healthcare.

UNICEF's Field Officer, Mr. Rahama Rihood Mohammed, emphasized the importance of investing in children's wellbeing and urged the state government to prioritize investments in critical sectors.

The renewed partnership aims to further enhance healthcare services, with a focus on sustainability and increased domestic funding.

This collaboration has already shown significant results, including improved immunization coverage, reduced under-5 mortality rates, and increased access to healthcare.
