Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) has conducted a 2-day training for 30 EMIS officers of the Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Bureau (SUBEB) on education dashboard and data use.
The training, held at M-town hotel in Dutse on March 20-21, 2025, aimed to enhance the capacity of government staff to use PLANE education dashboards for evidence-based decision-making, improve data interpretation skills, and promote effective education monitoring.
According to Franklin Onyia, M&E Coordinator of PLANE in Abuja, the training objectives included strengthening the capacity of government staff to navigate and utilize the PLANE education monitoring dashboard, enhancing stakeholders' ability to accurately interpret data, and deploying standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the dashboard.
Participants praised the training as a solution to monitoring system challenges and commended PLANE for its initiative in supporting the education sector in Jigawa State. They promised to utilize their newfound knowledge and share it with others on the education monitoring dashboard system.
The training highlights the importance of education in facilitating learning, acquiring knowledge, and developing skills, values, and habits. As a vital part of human development, education enables individuals to reach their full potential, contribute to their communities, and acquire knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
By empowering EMIS officers with the skills to effectively utilize education dashboards and data, PLANE is supporting Jigawa State's efforts to improve education outcomes and promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.
