Yobe TCI vows to continue an untiring advocate for family planning.

As the world marked International Women's Day recently, stakeholders in Yobe state have been advised to prioritise family planning as a key factor in women's and girls' empowerment.
The call was made during a review meeting of the challenge initiative (TCI) media team in Damaturu, the Yobe state Capital, on 26/03/ 2025.
The meeting aimed to sensitize media practitioners on the significance of family planning and its impact on women's health, education and economic empowerment.
The chairman of the Yobe TCI media team, Mustapha Yusuf Musa, urged members to continue advocating for family planning and challenge myths and misconceptions surrounding it. And promote positive behavioural change among their audience.
" Through regular advocacy for family planning, stakeholders in Yobe can contribute to a healthier, more empowered and prosperous society for women and girls Mustapha stated.
According to him, child spacing is crucial for married women to have better health and stand strong.
He stressed the need for the media team to focus on success stories, challenges and lessons learned, pointing out that there is a need to give perspectives on the focus of the new round of the project.
Mustapha outlined the development of action plans to guide future media activities in Yobe State.
Some participants, Hauwa Hassan, Yusuf A Yusuf and Ahmed I Abba, assured to give more priority in their reportage on how the propagation of wrong religious doctrines across Islam and Christianity hinders family planning uptake in Yobe state.
