Jahun Local Government Flags off Dry Season rice Farmers with input

The Jahun Local Government Council has Flags off an initiative to support dry season rice farmers in the area.

 The council, led by Chairman Hon. Jamilu Muhammad Danmalam, distributed farming equipment to 300 farmers in the local government area.

The equipment, which includes: water pumps, rice seeds, threshing machines, pesticides among others aimed at boosting agricultural production and reducing poverty in the area.

The Chairman emphasized that the initiative is part of the state government's efforts to promote dry season farming and reduce hunger.

 He noted that the local government has allocated land for farming in various locations, including Tunubu village, Kanwa ward.

The coordinator of the dry season farming program, Malam Suraja Dahiru, commended the chairman for his efforts in promoting agriculture in the local government area. He noted that the state government has directed local governments to allocate land for farming to youths, with Jahun Local Government allocating land to over 300 beneficiaries.

Executive Chairman, Jahun local Government Council said the event was attended by dignitaries, including local government officials, traditional rulers, politicians, and farmers.

This initiative is expected to boost agricultural production, reduce poverty, and improve food security in the area.
