A former Senate aspirant from the Action Alliance party, who contested in the 2023 election for Jigawa Central, Hon. Kabiru Yakubu Yina has made a significant move by defecting to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) along with his supporters.

This shift in allegiance was accompanied by praise for Hamza Almustapha, the SDP's presidential aspirant, who has been commended for his leadership and vision.

Hamza Almustapha, a retired Major and former Chief Security Officer to late military head of state, Sani Abacha, has been hailed as a strong leader who can tackle insecurity in the country.

His presidential aspirations under the SDP platform have garnered significant support, with many praising his courage and determination.

The defectors, who have assured the SDP of their unwavering support, have cited Almustapha's exceptional leadership qualities as a key factor in their decision to join the party.

Hon. Kabiru Yakubu Yana's ability to inspire and mobilize people has been particularly noteworthy, and his commitment to addressing the country's security challenges has resonated deeply with many Nigerians.

This development may have significant implications for the political dynamics in Jigawa Central and the SDP's prospects in future elections. As the SDP continues to gain momentum, Almustapha's leadership and vision are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the party's success.
