PLANE Empowers Jigawa Education Accountability Forum Members in Kano.

The Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) recently hosted a 2-day capacity-building workshop for Jigawa Education Accountability Forum members at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano.
The event which held on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th 2025, focused on monitoring and tracking teaching and learning outcomes, enhancing participants' capacity to promote accountability in basic and post-basic education sectors.
Dr. Soji Adeniyi a facilitator from PLANE Abuja said the workshop aimed to improve accountability in education, aligning with global efforts to enhance education quality.
According to Adeniyi, effective monitoring and evaluation are crucial in education, enabling stakeholders to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions. By building the capacity of Jigawa Education Accountability Forum members, PLANE is contributing to a more accountable and effective education system.
The Jigawa Education Accountability Forum (JEAF) was inaugurated in collaboration with PLANE, comprising state and non-state actors, including civil society organizations, media, academicians, and other relevant stakeholders. PLANE's efforts are part of a broader movement to improve education outcomes in Nigeria, working at the federal level and in five states, including Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Yobe, and Borno.
In his closing remarks, Babawuro Fate on behalf of the participants commeded the efforts of PLANE for engaging education stakeholders yo improving teaching and learning in Jigawa state. He promised that what they are doing in Jigawa will never be in vain and would be the pillar of restructuring basic education system.

By strengthening the capacity of education stakeholders, PLANE is helping to drive positive change in the education sector. The organization's efforts align with the broader goal of diversifying school provision, improving accountability and autonomy, and injecting additional finance into the education sector.
