Dangote Foundation Flags Off Rice Distribution in Jigawa

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has flagged off the distribution of 40,000 10kg bags of rice to vulnerable households in Jigawa State. The distribution, facilitated by the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), began in Batakashi village, Garki Local Government Area, on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

The village, which was affected by a recent fire incident that burnt 45 houses, received 500 10kg bags of rice and 100 mats. The Hon. Chairman of Garki Local Government, Adamu Hudu Kore, praised the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its efforts in assisting vulnerable communities.

 "We are very happy for having Dangote, this donation is always bringing succor to hundreds of thousands of families."Sa'id Kore. 

Alhaji Muhammad Murtala Maiunguwa (Acting Executive Secretary, Jigawa SEMA) said "Aliko Dangote Foundation brought 40,000 10kg bags of rice to Jigawa State meant for poor and vulnerable individuals."

Mustapha Umar (Representative, Aliko Dangote Foundation): "Aliko Dangote Foundation brought these assistance to across Nigeria with a view to bring relief to vulnerable communities."

Ibrahim Brema Batakshi: "I am so happy with this palliative... we thank him very much."

Armaya'u Habu Batakashi: "We thank Dangote for bringing this relief material to us, it will assist us and bring us out of the hardship."

Batakashi Community is located about 96 kilometers away from Dutse, the Jigawa State capital. The community's houses are mostly thatched and mud buildings, and the people are predominantly Hausa by tribe.
