JIGAWA STATE NULGE PRESIDENT EULOGIZE GOVERNOR NAMADI FOR SAVING THE STATE PENSION SCHEME

The President of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Jigawa State chapter Comrade Abubakar Garba Shitu eulogized the Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi on his capacity and strategies that rescue the Jigawa State and Local Government Pension Scheme.

Before his assumption as a governor of Jigawa State, the Jigawa  State pension scheme had been jeopardised, running to the collapse stage.

The administration in 2023 inherited the queue of hundreds of retired civil servants waiting for their entitlements, some have spent over a year waiting.

But with the kind intervention of Governor Malam Umar Namadi over 2000 retirees have been paid the benefits.

Malam Umar Namadi has injected over ₦7.5B into the scheme to save it from collapsing.

Comrade Abubakar described the governor as civil servants governor, as he is committed to enhancing welfarism of the state and local government workers.

The state government recently reviewed the salary with an increase of 50 to 100 percent to the categories of the civil servants.

He appealed to the governor to continue with these gestures for human development of Jigawa people.
