Yobe Govt To Begin Distribution of Agric implement for 2025 cropping season.

The Yobe State Government is set to commence the direct distribution of agricultural inputs for the 2025 cropping season to support farmers across the state.
The initiative was announced during the opening ceremony of a five-day Agricultural Show and Exhibition held in Damaturu the Yobe state Capital.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Ali Mustapha Goniri, emphasized the government's commitment to boosting agriculture and enhancing the state's agricultural value chain.
"The government is working to provide additional inputs, including tractors, improved varieties of certified seeds, solar-powered water pumps, fertilizers, and agrochemicals, to support farmers during both the dry and wet farming seasons he added
According to him any moment from now, the Ministry will embark on the direct distribution of these inputs to deserving farmers across the state free of charge," Governor Buni stated.
Hon. Ali Goniri noted that last y, ear the Buni administration spent over ₦17 billion on agricultural inputs and equipment to achievegeneraterity, generating employment,and improving income, particularly among you. Ah a total of 5,340 beneficiaries from 178 wards across the state will receive these inputs free of charge to promote self-reliance in food production.
In his goodwill message, the State Coordinator of ACReSAL, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad, highlighted the achievements in the agricultural sector and noted the organization's support for improved practices and outcomes. He disclosed that ACReSAL had disbursed $2,775,000 to 111 communities under the Climate Smart Agriculture/Community Revolving Fund Program.
"This event showcases innovations such as improved seeds, modern machinery, livestock, and irrigation technologies, signalling a brighter future for agriculture in Yobe," Shehu Muhammad remarked.
The Agricultural Show, being revived after 19 years, drew praise from stakeholders including the Agricultural Development Program (ADP), the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) commended the government for its focus on agriculture and called for sustained efforts in this regard.
