Police arrest son for allegedly killing father in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Muhammad Salisu, for allegedly killing his biological father, Salisu Abubakar, 57, with a machete.
According to reports, the incident occurred on May 5, 2025, at about 10:00 am in Bakin Kasuwa Quarters, Sara District, Gwaram Local Government Area. The victim sustained injuries on his shoulder, neck, and chest and was rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kudu, where he was pronounced dead.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP AT Abdullahi, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse to take over the case for discreet investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect will be arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law.
The police public relations officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest and the ongoing investigation, assuring that justice will be served.
