SWOFON Hosts Stakeholders Dialogue in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Small-Scale Women Farmers Organization in Nigeria (SWOFON) recently hosted a Stakeholders Dialogue session with oversight institutions, including the Auditor General's Office and the Office of the Accountant General. 

The event, supported by Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative (PLSI), brought together key stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for enhancing accountability and transparency in public resource management.

The Objectives Achieved the dialogue aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Auditor General's Office and the Accountant General's Office in conducting timely and comprehensive audits, promote collaboration between oversight institutions and civil society for improved transparency, and increase public awareness on the role of oversight institutions in ensuring accountability in public spending.

The event which held at Manpower Development Institute Dutse, the Jigawa star Capital on Wednesday 7th May, 2025, prioritized the needs, challenges, and opportunities for empowerment and inclusion of smallholder women farmers in the agricultural sector.

The dialogue provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and find solutions to the challenges faced by oversight institutions and smallholder women farmers, ultimately enhancing accountability and transparency in public resource management.

One of the Participants, Comrade Shuaibu Musa Kafingana chairman JISOP Jigawa chapter advised SWOFON to work on data base that will enhance their activities in the state. "If SWOFON have data of their total members across Jigawa state, they will not be left behind" Kafingana stated. 

He then comm ended the efforts of SWOFON for their tireless efforts in ensuring that women Farmers have Access to all government programs and interventions.
