Ex-Jigawa SEMA Boss Sworn in as Special Adviser on Social Security

The former Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mairiga, has been sworn in as the Special Adviser on Social Security by Governor Malam Umar Namadi.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, June 5, 2025. In his remarks, Governor Namadi charged the newly appointed adviser to adhere to the rules and guidelines governing the office.

Mairiga, in his acceptance speech, pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of the office and promote the administration's agenda under Governor Namadi's leadership. He expressed gratitude to the governor for entrusting him with the responsibility.

The appointment marks a new chapter for Mairiga, who previously led Jigawa SEMA. His new role will focus on social security matters, supporting the state government's initiatives.
