The Bauchi State Traditional Council of Emirs has appealed to citizens across the state to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding following the recent announcement concerning the creation of additional emirates, chiefdoms, and districts in the state.

In a circular signed by the Emir of Bauchi and Chairman of the State Traditional Council, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, the Council acknowledged that the proposal has attracted mixed reactions from the public, including both support and criticism.

The Council expressed concern over alleged plans by some individuals to instigate unrest in a bid to disrupt the implementation of the initiative. It warned that state administration falls strictly under the jurisdiction of the government and emphasized the need for respect, cooperation, and adherence to decisions made in the best interest of the state.

“The Government holds the prerogative in matters of state administration. It is imperative that all parties respect and support the process,” the statement said.

The Traditional Council earnestly appealed to citizens to channel their opinions or concerns through proper and established committees for consideration. It stressed that only through constructive dialogue and mutual respect can the state achieve lasting peace and development.

The circular concluded by urging all citizens to work collectively to sustain peace and ensure an orderly environment for the greater good of Bauchi State.
