Jigawa first lady empowers chairmens wife, women leaders, calls for unity

In her inspiring speech at the 2-Day Orientation Programme for Wives of Elected Local Government Chairmen and APC Women Leaders, Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, First Lady of Jigawa State, emphasized the critical role women play in governance and community development.
With the theme "Empowering Partners for Progress," the program which held at Chilla Hotels Kano on Friday and Thursday 25-26th July, 2025, aims to equip women with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive positive change in their communities.
Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi highlighted the significance of women's empowerment, citing the Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) words, "The best among you are those who bring benefit to others." She emphasized that women are not merely supporters but strategic partners in governance, holding the keys to unlocking grassroots impact.
The First Lady outlined the objectives of the orientation program, which include: Learning how to design projects that address the real needs of communities, focusing on healthcare, education, and women's empowerment, sharing ideas and resources across local governments to drive sustainable development, and using their voices to advocate for policies that uplift women and children.
Mrs. Namadi urged the wives of Local Government Chairmen to use their unique position to bridge the gap between government and the people, visiting the vulnerable and championing initiatives that bring hope. She also encouraged APC Women Leaders to mobilize, mentor, and inspire other women to participate in politics and governance.
The First Lady pledged her full support to the efforts of the women, ensuring that their projects receive the necessary visibility and resources. She emphasized the importance of creating a legacy of impact that will benefit future generations.
Participants commended the efforts of the first Lady towards ensuring that the women in the state are United. "Ensuring that comes 2027 general election, APC will cleared all the votes".says the women leader.
Skylink news report that Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi's speech was a rallying cry for women to take their rightful place as architects of progress in Jigawa State. By empowering women, "we can unlock the potential of communities and drive sustainable development. As the First Lady aptly put it, "A woman's place is wherever she decides to make a difference." She added.
