Civil society coalition calls for Promoting Peaceful Elections in Garki and Babura

In the lead-up to the Garki and Babura federal constituency by-election, the Civil Society Coalition on Security, Peace, and Conflict Resolution is urging all stakeholders to prioritize peace and ensure a free, fair, and transparent process."

Comrade Muhammad Musbahu Basirka  during the conference held in Dutse, called on the candidates, party supporters, security personnel, and traditional leaders to put peace first and make this election a contest of ideas, not violence

"We call on candidates, party supporters, security personnel, and traditional leaders to put peace first and make this election a contest of ideas, not violence." Basirka stated.

According to Basirka, the coalition will monitor the election process, working closely with security agencies, INEC, political parties, and the media to safeguard integrity.

He said people should not  forget that the  continuous voter registration starts on August 18, 2025. "Register or update your voter information and make your voice heard"he urged.

The National president then advised the candidates "Alhaji Rabiu Mukhtar (APC) and Auwalu Isah Manzo (PDP)", to focus on real issues affecting the people, including jobs, healthcare, education, security, and infrastructure."

"Let's make this election remembered for unity and hope, not division and tension. Vote peacefully, speak with your ballot, and respect each other's choices" says Basirka.

He then called on everyone to join  in promoting peaceful elections and building a brighter future for Garki and Babura.
