PLANE Facilitates PPP Modelling for Basic Education in Jigawa

Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) facilitated the development of
Public Private Partnership in Jigawa State aimed at securing financial resources for Non state schools.
Against this background, PLANE organized a 2-Day Capacity Building Workshop on PPP Modelling for Basic Education to share Global Education PPP Initiatives on the principled for adaption
and use in Jigawa State between Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22
nd January 2025.
Jigawa state has already established a PPP framework aimed at expanding education access by engaging private and community based-schools, addressing funding gaps in education delivery through structured partnership, ensuring quality assurance by leveraging private sector efficiency in basic education's management.
In his welcome address, the Hon. Commissioner ministry for basic education Jigawa state, Dr. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo welcome the idea and attributed that Public Private Partnership will enhance basic education process to meet standard across the state.
Dr. Danzomo said Jigawa state government is ready to partner with any private individual with a view to achieving learning outcome in the state.
In his address, the Plane state team lead Lawan B. Ahmad said private sector is leave on it's own in Nigeria, there is an idea to incorporate and engaged them in educational development in Jigawa.
Private individuals organizations have been in attendance and assured that they will partner the state government in moving basic education to the next level.
They also commended the efforts of PLANE in bringing the PPP on basic education's idea to the state and how they are contributing to education development.
President of the Jigawa chamber of commerce industries mines and agriculture Alhaji Muhammad Mukhtar Birniwa in his comment, said coming together of all the sectores and all the private institutions in the state as they are responsible on educational development in the state. "Our coming together will make us understand current and the past problems if there is any so that solution will be reach" he stated.
Partnership for learning for all in Nigeria is driving sustainable improvements in learning outcomes by strengthening teaching and learning, improving governance of state of education systems, improving governance of non-state education systems, increasing use of data and evidence in decision making, building resilient systems for children affected by conflict, and mobilizing community support for learning.
